Tutoring is a service offered to students at the University of Padua with the aim of providing them with information and support in times of difficulty during their studies.
Junior Tutors are students in the final years of their master's or doctoral degrees, with a normal university career. Their task is to provide information or resolve doubts and problems encountered by students in their university life, supporting them with organisational and educational difficulties (study plans, exam schedules, relations with academic bodies, the secretariat, etc.).
The Tutoring service offers students in the Philosophy degree courses two distinct types of services: an inbound guidance service and an outbound guidance service.
Inbound guidance is mainly (though not exclusively) aimed at first-year students, who are offered a personalised information service. Through weekly sessions with Junior Tutors, students can obtain essential information about the organisation and workings of the degree courses, the administrative formalities to be fulfilled, the procedures for submitting study plans, the possibilities of studying abroad, etc.
Outbound guidance, on the other hand, seeks to monitor the employment status of students after graduation (mainly, after obtaining a master's degree). In this regard, annual meetings are organised with former Philosophy students involved in the world of work, with the aim of exchanging information, ideas, contacts, etc.
